I'd like a utility that shuts my laptop down properly after 10 minutes or so of no activity (no keypress or mouse movement) if the laptop loses AC power. Does anyone know of anything like that?

Are we talking newer, Windows XP running laptop or an old DOS based machine?

It's a Windows XP machine that I'm concerned about.

Sorry for resurrecting a dead topic, but I just want to make this one complete.

Built in to Windows is the ability to have Windows Hibernate after so many minutes of being unused on battery. Hibernation is a good thing Smile and does what I want: Saves my battery in case the power goes out while I'm out.
