Just wondering if anyone has tried this... Can you get a wireless signal in the freezer, with the door shut? I'm not advocating climbing in with a laptop and shutting the door, but I am thinking of putting a computer in there for a while to try to recover data from a dead drive.

If I can get a wireless signal, I can remote desktop to the machine and start the copy... ;-)

Never really tried it, but I have a friend who works in the High-Temp Oven/Cryogenic-Freezer industry. Several of their designs include remote monitoring via RF (obviously you don't want to stick your hand in there to feel whether it's -200°F or not), so theoretically, it should be possible (unless you're Indiana Jones and hide yourself in a lead-lined fridge to escape being nuked....)
