I came across this particular EGA card on a run down 5160 that the mb died on. I'm trying to find information about it, jumper settings, dipswitch settings and the like. But google hasn't even heard of the damn thing. I appeal to those with greater knowledge in the forums to assist with this one. It's really confusing |

tried th99, the only other id mark this thing has on it the bios chip has a interlink business networks EGA sticker on it, i can't find anything on the company. it's like this card doesn't exist. here's the kicker, its got a parallel port on it too. is there anything special you have to set the xt mb to for an ega card? |

I think it's switches 5 and 6 on. We've probably got the information on the main site. Yep... I just checked.
Take a look at the XT DIP settings here:

ega on an xt switched set to EGA or NO VIDEO
this means to the mb that the bios on the card is detected and loads.
this will not work on an early pc mb ( that won't accept a hd controller either)
VGA card same thing ( ignore the extra fingers)
Possible options: mono herc mono monitor
cga monitor ( permite 16 colors with cga games)
don't try a eha mono setting it will blow a mono monitor. |

tryed it, still no dice for rca output, i'm wonderng if the plugs are output at all, maybe some kind of funky light pen, thing is, i don't have an ega or a NEC multisync that can handle BOTH 9 and 15 pin plugs. just got my haves on an xe15 monitor but it only has a 15 pin plug. i may have to put my headland ergo vram II back in, that 16 bit card will work in an 8bit slot |

the rca connectors are NOT a composite output ( as to a vcr or tv,.
they will be on a XCGA card
but on an ega card are a feature connector
PC magazine once had instructions for adding a small pc boar so the frequency chould be upgraded for a higher sweep rate.
as you guessed it is not an output.
the bery best thing you can do with an ega card as ega nmonitors are now very rare,
it to set the switches to CGA monitoir
and use it for cga games the goofly colors will be gone ( cyan & nmagenta)
and you wilkl usually get real reds and reakl blues |

If you've got jumpers on the card, it's usually quite safe to adjust them and see what happens. Just write down where they were and start adjusting. |

i needs the monitor first, if all goes well, i can get the monitor, put the card back to the jumper settings it was when i got it, plug the monitor in and it will work, then debug my way into it's bios and see who made it. |
