I wanted to "do something" and I had a small desktop that I had kept complete and is working ? condition. Memory plays tricke, I was sure it was a winchip and would not take anything better.
But it would not start
we determined it was the video card and plkugged in several Lights lit but nothing else.
I gave up and started with another mB teetering on the top of the case., I cheeted and instead of 55 dimm
put in a 133 becaue one was handy. It fired right up despite being tettery on a magazine
and eventually I started wotrking with the other one
I didovered it DID have a o233 mmx chip
and 4-16m ram ships for aq total of 64 megs.
seems after an hour bot on the web and looking inb my files ONE swith had been vunoed anbd kept it from showing life.
I took down my big bundel of 72 pin dimms and founs one that said 32megs Thenb I found another, wow 64 megs anbd two empty sockets.
well I took out one put it in my pocket and tried the reswt of the "similar batch" I git either 6 or 16megs total * with a p5 these chipos must be used 2 at a time" finally I found two more.
the board is MAXED OUT at 128 negs of ram.
I recall at one time I actually installed xp on a machine like this.
not anymore.
tomorrow I get to do the same thinsg with the other mb. |

I dug out the old compact 486 dx 66. and attemted to enhance it a buit more
it took 2+ hoiurs just to reassemble the drive cage,.
and a pain to inbsdtll the cover so my advenbtures with this THING will eb lim, ited.
I maxed out the 73 pin ram at 32 mwgs ( wow) - i only have 3 g in this one.-
so I cannot use it to test ram.
