It was bad enough that 99% of the results these days are for stores trying to sell you stuff (I want information, not great prices) but now I've noticed a new annoyance. I keep getting results that have nothing to do with what I searched for; the sites somehow insert my keywords in order to show up. For example, a search for the LG 4081B drive returned the following. What is this!?
...option should have been actively paused, and each liberal pleaded to the Panasonic LG 4081B. His broadcast drawn, whichever advocated plus assured their ...
Search engines are becoming useless. |

Start a new one. Eliminate the advertising-only results... Oh wait, you have to break even. Gotta start including those results again to get sponsors.
Marketing types have screwed up the internet. The need to make a profit has everything in its grasp. Ferenginar, here we come! |

How is keyword spamming Google's fault? |

So you're now ? rather than Beta? It's a whole lot easier to type.
I still get decent results with Google, but it's really not doing as well as it could. Like the fight against spam, preventing exploitation of search tactics is a constantly evolving science. I wonder if a thesaurous (sp?) cross-reference of words could be done to eliminate irrelavent terms. |

Google may not be perfect, but is there any better search engine? |

No, I am still ß. It is not hard to type either. If you use Windows, simply set your keyboard layout to US International. You can then insert a ß simply by typing AltGr (Right Alt on a US keyboard) + S. |

Hm... For some reason (machine or not, I don't know) I saw questionmark...
It's easier to copy and paste or just spell it out. I usually spell out greek letters and then use a search and replace to get to them. Thankfully, I'm done with dealing with the bulk of them for the next several months. (Physics Lab is over!) |

The problem is the 10million bastard sites linking directly to ebay for anything you type, they should be banned |

I agree. I wonder if that's legal and who runs those sites. maybe ebay themselves. The worst thing however is that most of the google copies of those listings are waaaay out of date ( because listings are very dynamic -> change fast ) |

That's a German letter isn't it? Looks familiar; I tried learning the language years ago but I just can't seem to pronounce some of the sounds, like the rolling r's. |
