I tried your code but now I have another problem.
I have a div container on the left of the screen with a fixed width and height. on the right of that div, a new div with the same fixed height begins. but the width is not fixed, it should extend all the way to the end of the browser window. how do I do that? "width: *;" doesn't work, neither does "width: 100%:, then I get a scrollbar at the bottom and have to scroll all the way to teh right to see everything. |

What happens if you simply omit the width for the div on the right? |

then it's only extended as far as the content goes. but the content doesn't fill the whole leftover width ( at least not in 1024x768 ) |

i switched back to the tables and solved my final problem. you can take a look at the 'new old' layout here:
http://mf2server.gotdns.org/mf_2work/
No frames, no font tags, but css!
and it's scaled automatically to fit any screen size! |

Please report any bugs immediately!!!
I'll move it to the real address in a few days, to give bugs time to surface.
Fianlly, I got the design working! I'm so happy! |

You are aware of the fact that phpBB allows you to edit your previous posts, right? |

yes. but i don't think it'll show that teh topic has new stuff in it ( have a red lightning in the icon on the left of the topic title ) if I just edit it. then, users won't know that there's new info in the thread. |

Frames are so 1997!
Using images for text is awful. Use text for text, not images of text!
I really can't say anything good about your site. The clipart you have used throughout the pages looks pretty bad too.
You're using deprecated presentational extenstions to HTML too instead of using CSS to control presentation.
Your computer history page is plain wrong.

In the 1970s, the first homecomputers appeared. The most prominent homecomputer is probably the IBM PC ( Personal Computer ). Its successors are still sold today, most of the computers sold today have their roots in the IBM PC. |
The PC was not and is not a home computer! The PCjr was IBM's home computer. The PC was intended as a business machine, which explains why its audio capabilities were so primitive.
I don't mean to sound overly negative, but your site is pretty bad. |
It looks OK to me, personally I hate those damn CSS piles, plain straight HTML is the best as it is
1. Small
2. Compatible With Everything
3. Not overly pretty. |
