I open device manager, select view resources by type, click the + by IRQs and this is the list I get...

(ISA) 0 System Timer
(ISA) 1 Keyboard
(ISA) 4 COM1
(ISA) 6 Floppy Disk Controller
(ISA) 8 System CMOS/RTC
(ISA) 9 Microsoft ACPI Compliant System
(ISA) 12 PS/2 Compatible Mouse
(ISA) 13 Numeric Data Processor
(ISA) 14 Primary IDE
(ISA) 15 Secondary IDE
(PCI) 3 Intel 82801EM SMBus Controller
(PCI) 16 Intel 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller 24D2
(PCI) 16 Intel 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24DE
(PCI) 16 Intel 82865G Graphics Controller
(PCI) 17 SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
(PCI) 19 Intel 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D4
(PCI) 20 Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection
(PCI) 23 Intel 82801EB USB2 Enhanced Controller 24DD

What is windows doing to create new IRQs? Is this some fancy new form of IRQ sharing? Any insight would be great.

Thanks,
Ki
