(My answer is "when you've moved 80 machines in your basement around since 4:00 a.m. just so the furnace guy can get a path through to service the furnace.)

when fax machines were only seen in movies ( sci-fi)
and before copy machines.
and tv sets had a mirror on a lid and the tube pointed UP.
aaaagh yes i remember that well.

U know u'r old when you remember u'r dad buying the family the first TV and neigbours
came and watched, 1 channel to choose from, and a homemade antenna.
