neither have i. my dad may have been there in 1918!

I thought the Germans invaded the Netherlands in WWI? Or was it just Belgium and Luxemburg? |

well my dad passed away in 1942 so i cannot ask him.
since he ancestors were dutch, it's possible he was a visitor.
If i were that close and my great grandpa came from there i would visit.
BTW I got a letter from a lady in belgium whos father's name was the same as my son's. she was looking for her dad. a us soldier. ( 1945)
since i was 10 then and my dad was no longer with us, its
not my family. ( no uncles on that side)
I wish her luck finding her dad. |

De Groot is a very common name (meaning The Large(r) or Great(er)) (More or less like Alexander :p) |

I cannot say " degroot" properly as i cannot do that " little catch in the throat" on the second O. a real dutchman ,cormelious molencamp, could.
I was told it meant "the tall one" since I am 6'1" and my brother is 6" 3"
my sons are 6" 2" and 6" 5". i believe it."
If i had a daughter would she be over 6' and not able to find a suitable husband? |
