I have two Qume, 8 inch floppy drives that were sent to the facteory to be refurbished and haven't been used since their return. By the time I got them back the customer decided to go a different route and I've been storing them ever since.

Anyway I've stored them long enough and am thinking of selling them but I have no idea of their value.

If anyone out there has an idea of what these things are worth I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks,

Wow, how long were you storing it for? Razz

According to eBay, not much. (But then again, how reliable is that???)

If I remember correctly I believe I've had them since '83 or '84. Since posting here I've found a couple of places that have used ones for sale taken from working systems for around $350.

I figure mine should be worth a little more since they were refurbished at the factory and haven't been used since.

We'll see Smile

Old 8" drives value depend on the density, quad density or higher are worth the most. I sold a very poor pair of 1.6mb 8" floppy drives in an old array for a TI for $100, not sure what you could get in good shape, never know unless you try.

If you do decide to use eBay, there's always setting a reserve price so you don't get stuck selling your drives for a bum deal.
