i read a while ago, tyhat the new mac os-x for the intel - based macs
was being unofficially " ported" to ordinary pc's

but some hardware chacks had to be overcome.
now I am having enought trouble with windows,
and am not about toi switch to a non pc-os or even linux
or Lindows, but has anyone heard anything?

It's probably been done by someone.

As far as the GUI goes, Ubuntu is close enough to Windows that you'll probably feel at home. It just doesn't close the window when you double click on the control box in the upper left. (I guess that's an obscure Windows mouse command.)
