Try running HiJack This, a program designed to tell you exactly what's running on your system. Look for anything you find that's slightly suspicious.

Also, do you have some kind of search side bar popping up?

Your score is 202 (total of 350 points), in 866 moves.
This gives you the rank of Adventurer.

my recommendation would be to run Spysweeper or one of the other spyware removers like spybot.

Good Luck

Spybot is pretty good. You could also try Spy Doctor, but they want you to pay for it.

(The scan is free though on SD)

I am running a "true clone" of the 4g drive on the troublesome system. it does not happen here
I did clear all history within mozilla.
and it seems... to happen infrequently on that system.

this has been a "troubled system"
it crashed and finally I put ina 3com NIC card in and it let me on the net w/o running internet connect wizard
it hardly burped installing the NIC.

otherwise the system is fine.
