I bought a 32 GB[10] (that's base-10 gigabytes) USB flash drive to play my MP3s while in a Sienna. The music system begins to play, then starts over a couple times and quits with the message "Error 5". Consulting the manual is useless, they don't bother to tell me what any of the errors means.
Not much help is out there on the Internet, either. Error 5 means to one person time to unplug and replug the device but that's about it.
I've tried reformatting the drive, a different file system, reducing the files to a single folder of MP3s (and folder.jpg--Might it balk at that? Who can tell?) a USB extension cable (in case the drive wasn't making good contact in the slot) and get the same useless "Error 5" each time.
If you've got a Alphanumeric display, display a real error message and not a number. "Device draws too much power" (That's the error I get on my Archos 43 with this drive) or something similar lets me know what's wrong and if my efforts might fix it. For all I know "Error 5" may mean the phases of the moon are wrong, and silly me I've only tried it on two adjacent days.
Well, maybe this will get a few search results anyway and someone will actually discover what "Error 5" on the Toyota Sienna's radio means. |
