TITLE: Printing a Document as a Booklet or Pamphlet (Enhancement) PRODUCT: WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS Enhancement You can print a document in booklet or pamphlet format. Concept When you choose to print a document as a booklet, two logical pages are placed on each physical page (one sheet of paper). For example, if you are printing a 10-page pamphlet, the first physical page would contain booklet pages 1 and 10. The second physical page would contain booklet pages 2 and 9, and so on. To better see how the logical pages relate to physical pages, refer to Subdivide Page in your WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS reference manual. As another example, if you subdivided the pages of your document to print a 16-page booklet, the following combinations of logical pages would each be on a separate physical page: 1 and 16, 2 and 15, 3 and 14, and so on. When you subdivide pages, any formatting changes such as headers, footers, and margin changes will be made to each logical page. How Do I Use It? Before you can print the booklet, you need to select the correct paper size, then subdivide the page. For this example, we will turn an 8 1/2" by 11" sheet of paper to landscape orientation and print two pages of our booklet on each sheet of paper. 1 Retrieve a document you have already created that contains more than one page of text. First, change the Paper Size/Type. 2 Choose Page from the Layout menu, or press Format (Shift+F8) then choose Page (3). 3 Choose Paper Size/Type (4). 4 Highlight Letter (Landscape), then choose Select (1). Now, subdivide the pages into two parts so that two booklet pages will print on one physical page. 5 Choose Subdivide Page (6). 6 Type 2 for the number of columns and press Enter. Type 1 for the number of rows and press Enter. 7 Choose OK. 8 If you are printing to a printer that will print duplex, choose Double-sided Printing (8), then choose Long Edge or Short Edge, depending on how you want the pages to print. 9 Choose OK, then choose Close to return to the document editing screen. 10 Choose Print/Fax from the File menu, or press Print/Fax (Shift+F7). 11 Choose Multiple Pages (4), then choose Print as Booklet (7). 12 Choose OK. You are now ready to print your booklet. You can either print the booklet or use Print Preview to see how the pages will appear. For this example, print the booklet. 13 Choose Print. Each page that is printed will contain two pages of your booklet. When your booklet is printed, if you fold it in half, you will be able to see how the pages fit together.
