I picked up a new toy today, A graphics tablet. I've been getting into sketching and as I already scan my work in to edit it, this removes a step. It's just going to take some getting use to (looks sadly at drawing pencil . Crying or Very sad ). I may show some of my drawings here some day but for now I'm not that good (Although others say I am, just trying to make me feel good I guess).[/b]

Ok, I have decided to post my first drawing here. I spent a lot of time one it and got a lot out of the experience (I now feel comfortable with the tablet). Remember I have only been drawing for a week and a day so I'm still working on my style.

I have a feeling some here will find this drawing silly, But I feel it's my best stab at a wolf head yet (or at least some type of Canidae). I'm really wanting to get to the point I can start drawing comic strips. I already have several ideas, it's just getting them to come out on paper the way I want them too. This is a week 3 attempt at drawing.

That's not bad at all. It's better than I could do. Keep working, and you'll get really good at it.

I'm going to take classes soon on stuff like perspective and finding simple shapes in complex forms (Though I do that last one already).

I should post my first attempt, Downright humiliating Laughing. And to think that was just ~3 weeks ago.

I wonder how much drafting they'll have you do. I can draw just good enough to be recognizable, but do a pretty decent job drafting. It sure helps to be able to render a 3-D model of an idea when you're trying to sell someone on it.

None I'd think. Though I have taken drafting classes before, both traditional paper drafting and working with autocad. If I recall correctly, we used autocad 13, could have been 12 even.
